In an apparent indication that `mobile' is one of the key agendas of Facebook at present, the social network recently announced a major upgrade which will bring its Open Graph app and games infrastructure to mobile devices. The upgrade, according to Facebook, underscores "the next evolution of Facebook Platform for mobile."
With the upgrade of Open Graph to mobile having been announced on Thursday, during the course of Facebook's Mobile DevCon event currently underway in New York City, Douglas Purdy - the social network's director of product management - said in a post on the Facebook Developers Blog that the announced update marks a noteworthy transition of the Facebook Platform for Mobile.
Drawing attention to the major features behind Open Graph for mobile, Purdy said that the upgrade brings along the advantage of the Object API for the creation of Open Graph objects, sans the need of a web server to host them along.
To put it differently, Open Graph for mobile will allow the developers of all mobile and non-game web apps to integrate content without having to maintain a separate page and web server.
Meanwhile, Purdy also said that the mobile version of Open Graph also comes with a native Share Dialog which marks built-in support of Open Graph sharing actions for facilitating the sharing of content without having to log into Facebook first.
