Its the time for Android devices to rule the Smartphone market. Out
of 3 people who bought smartphone, 2 are the buyers of Android tabs and
phones. Android devices are highly customizable and are fully loaded
with features, that’s why users preferred to use this. Also as android
is an open source, so its custom development takes place and user get
new Rom very frequently. I am also an android developer and personally
developing Rom for Micromax A60. So i know the benefits of having
Android phones.
Now coming to the point. Many tabs and phones based on android platform are launched very frequently in Smartphone market. In India many low cost tabs are launched. But when user try to root them, the failed to do so because there is no USB debugging option in setting menu in some of tablets. So today i will tell you a simple method to root such devices, hope it will work for you.
a.) Launcher Pro (Can be downloaded from the market)
b.) App Installer or any other tool which allows installing apk files (Can be downloaded from the market)
c.) Z4root (refer to : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953)
1.) Download and install Launcher Pro and App Installer, then use App Installer to install z4root (remember you have to copy the apk to the SD card and then use App Installer to browse the directory where you put it and then install it).
2.) With z4root it is possible to root the device permanently or temporary, but unfortunately this program is not going to work, since USB debugging is disabled and the option for enabling it is missing in the menu.
3.) When we go to the original settings menu we notice USB Debugging option is not available.
4.) So we first need to activate the USB Debugging. Let’s go to the Launcher Pro home, by pressing the Home button a menu will popup.
5.) Select Launcher Pro, then the new home window will popup. Now just press anywhere in the background until a new window (Add to Home screen) appears.
6.) Now select “Shortcuts”
7.) Now select “Settings”
8.) Scroll the list till you find “Development”, select it
9) Press ok, and it’s done, a new shortcut should appear on the home page.
10.) Now click on it and there you will find the “hidden” USB debugging option. Turn it on (should become green) and then close the window
11.) Now go back to z4root.
12.) Choose your preferred option, I chose Permanent Root
13.) Now the program will start working to obtain root access. At the end of the process the device should reboot and should be rooted. You can also start again z4root and you should get the message at the bottom of the screen.
So this is the whole process to root a device having no USB debugging option.
