Samsung launches its cheapest phone Galaxy Star at Rs 5,240

Samsung Electronics has officially announced its entry level GALAXY Star for the  Indian market, two days after its specifications were leaked on a e-commerce portal infibeam.com. Though the device has a price tag of Rs 5240, infibeam is offering it at Rs 4,990.
Samsung is offering the device with a free data offer from Vodafone – 250 MB per month for 2 months .The offer is applicable on Vodafone 2G on purchase of Samsung Star till July 31 , 2013 .
The dual SIM Samsung Galaxy Star runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system and powered by A5 1GHz processor. It comes with With 3” capacitive touch screen, the device comes loaded with a 2MP camera. For connectivity it offers Bluetooth 4.0 technology for on-the-go Internet and effortless sharing. It has 512 MB RAM & 4GB internal memory expandable upto 32GB. The GALAXY Star comes pre-loaded with ChatOn, Samsung’s unique cross-platform communication service.
The company is trying to woo the feature phone users by introducing this budget smartphone.
